Come build the school you wish you'd worked at.

Maine's first charter public school is hiring teachers, kitchen leaders, and staff who believe children learn best when adults trust them — and each other.

WE GET IT

Industrial-age schools weren't built for the people inside them.

Children sorted by birth year. Bells that interrupt thinking. Food trucked in from a thousand miles away. Adults handed a script and asked not to deviate. If you've felt the friction between how schools are and how learning actually works, you're not imagining it.

A small Skowhegan school doing things differently. On purpose.

Multi-age Classrooms

Learners are grouped by readiness, not birthday. A first-grade class might hold five-, six-, and seven-year-olds.

Facilitators. Not lecturers

You design experiences. Students move classrooms as they reach learning targets.

Class sizes of 15-20

Small enough to know every child. Big enough to learn from each other.

Scratch-cooked, farm-to-table meals

200–300 meals daily, made in-house with local and school-grown ingredients.
